Security guards encounter a wide range of situations and are required to act professionally under all circumstances. Effective communication is an essential skill for security guards to adapt to different scenarios and defuse situations when required. Your ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of a security guard depends, in part, on your communication skills. Working with the public and gaining their cooperation will require you to develop effective verbal and non-verbal communication strategies and subsequently adapt them to the various situations you will encounter. This lecture focuses on the following,
- Oral and Written Communication skills.
- Communication based on an Individual or Situation.
- Interpersonal skills.
Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:
- Describe effective verbal and non-verbal communication strategies for security
- Identify and demonstrate methods of communication that are free from bias, discrimination, or
